United States Grand Prix: Here is everything you need to know!

This weekend brings the F1 calendar to Austin, Texas just in time for the United States Grand Prix. This race weekend differs from your regular race schedule as Saturday is jammed packed due to sprint qualifying followed up by the sprint race itself.

Sir Lewis Hamilton currently holds the record for the most wins, whilst Charles Leclerc set the fastest lap record of 1m 36.169s in 2019, that record is yet to be beat.

The track itself is 5.513km long. There is a 29% chance for either a virtual safety car or safety car taking place throughout the weekend. The layout of the track allows for plenty overtakes and battles between drivers.

Pirelli will be bringing three different tyres for this weekend. C1 as the hard tyres, C3 as the medium tyres and C4 as the soft tyres. This was the tyre layout that was originally planned to be tested during the Belgium Grand Prix but poor weather conditions did not allow for extra testing to take place. If the C1 tyre is favoured by the drivers then it should only require one pit stop that combines it with the C3 tyre during the race. Despite the C4 having improved degradation resistance it would require two pit stops on Sunday.

McLaren wrapped up the 2025 Constructors World Championship during the Singapore Grand Prix. But the Drivers Championship remains incomplete. Lando Norris is twenty-two points behind his teammate Oscar Piastri. Mathematically speaking both George Russell and Charles Leclerc are still in contention to win big, but they both would need huge triumphs throughout the weekend.

Will Ferrari pull through and provide Charles Leclerc a race winning car or will Mercedes take second place in the Constructors World Championship? Here’s to the Circuit of Americas and the last half a dozen Grand Prix’s.
