Lionesses Injuries - when will it end?

Published on 14 November 2025 at 19:47

With the next international break looming, it is difficult to ignore the growing injury concerns that the Lionesses currently have. The list is certainly longer than manager Sarina Wiegman would like it to be, especially with upcoming games against China and Ghana.

One of the most severe injuries out of them all is the injury to Michelle Agyemang. The young star shot onto the scene during Euro 2025 but has suffered a devastating ACL injury against Australia that will see her out for an extensive period.

The injuries do not stop there, with multiple players withdrawing from the England squad in the last international break – Grace Clinton, Jess Park, Hannah Hampton, Katie Reid and Lotte Wubben-Moy. The extent of these injuries is unclear but will severely unsettle the camp and change the squad drastically.

Serena Wiegman will be hopeful that most of these injuries are short-term knocks; however, the loss of some regulars will allow her to explore other upcoming talents.

To further add to the losses that England have suffered, defender Millie Bright announced her retirement from the international stage shortly before the last squad announcement. Katie Reid received her first senior call up to bolster the defense, but as mentioned above, withdrew from the squad due to a minor knock. She may be fit enough to make the squad again after featuring in the final minutes of Arsenal’s 4-1 victory against Leicester City.

The full squad announcement will be on Tuesday 18th November at 11am across various social platforms. It will certainly be interesting to see who is fit enough to make the squad.
