The UEFA Excutive Committee announced today that Germany will host the UEFA Women’s EURO 2029, beating Poland and a joint bid from Denmark/Sweden. Their bid was a convincing win with 15 votes, Denmark/Sweden receiving two and Poland none.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said “I want to sincerely thank all three bid delegations for their tireless work and commitment throughout the process. Each bid showcased vision and exceptional teamwork between national associations, governments and local experts, all inspired by the benchmark set by Switzerland last summer,”

Back in July, Switzerland set new record attendances, with an average of 21,000 per game, totalling to over 650,000 across the whole tournament, and Germany are confident they can draw over 1,000,000 spectators in.

The tournament will take place across eight cities: Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Leipzig, Hanover and Munich.

The 2029 Euros will be the third time Germany have hosted the tournaments, but can the eight-time champions continue their streak of staging and winning it like they did in 1989 and 2001?
