Sjoeke Nüsken has put pen to paper to sign a contract extension to keep her at Chelsea until summer of 2027.

Nüsken joined Chelsea from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 and made her debut during the first game of the season; an away game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Just a month into life with the Blues, Nüsken scored her career’s first hattrick in a 4-2 win in the Women’s Super League against Brighton & Hove Albion, adding to her season total of 12 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.

In her first season at the club, her goal contributions helped them to win the Women’s Super League title. The success also saw her nominated for the Ballon d’Or; she placed 25th on the list of the world’s best players.

Her second season at the club was also filled with silverware, as she was a vital part of the domestic treble win with 5 goals in 36 appearances.

The talented midfielder has represented Germany from the U15 youth levels through to being named in the squad for the Women’s European Championships 2025. Her first senior call up was in December of 2018 for a winter training camp, however she didn’t earn her first cap until February 2021 in a friendly against Belgium.

Nüsken travelled to her first major tournament in Australia as part of the squad for the 2023 World Cup in which she featured in the second group match. Germany did however make a surprise exit at the group stages of the competition. The following year she was also called up for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, here she started every game and her efforts helped Germany to finish with a bronze medal. For the third year running, Nüsken was called up to the summer tournament, this time for the UEFA Women’s Euros. While out in Switzerland, she was named as vice-captain for the tournament and scored three goals including two penalties.
