Ballon d’Or 2025: Ousmane Dembele has been crowned the winner of the 2025 Men’s Ballon d’Or

After an outstanding season across all competitions, Ousmane Dembele picks up his first Ballon d’Or.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been a part of a dominant side, who were favourites to house the winner of this year’s Ballon d’Or. Whilst some of his teammates were in the running for the award, Dembele has been a favourite for several months, battling it out with Barcelona’s young star in Lamine Yamal – who finished runner-up.

The winger turned striker had a stellar season across all competitions, but he particularly dominated in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League. He acquired 27 goal contributions in 29 games in Ligue 1, and 14 goal contributions in 15 Champions League appearances – almost 1 contribution per game in both competitions. PSG boss Luis Enrique made a bold decision in playing Dembele in a central role, but it certainly reaped its rewards.

In an emotional speech, Ousmane Dembele took to the stage and said: “I don’t have many words. Look, it’s not easy. It is one of the best things I have achieved in my career.”

He went on to thank various people close to him, in which he described the club (PSG) as a family, before bringing his biological family (his mother) on stage and paying tribute to her and her support from such a young age.

Dembele, who is currently injured, will hopefully be back out on the pitch for PSG soon, backing up exactly why he has received this prestigious award.
