Unfortunately, the 28-year-old, Diogo Jota died in a car crash on his way to a ferry home in Spain with his brother, Andre Silver. Diogo Jota had an amazing career and has won lots of silverware and scored lots of goals for both club and country. His most recent footballing achievement was winning the Nations League with Portugal which he stated that him and Portugal will win it in a clip after Liverpool receiving the Premier League trophy.

Just 2 weeks ago Jota married his wife, who he has been with since he was 16 years old. The Portuguese international captioned his Instagram post, which contained a picture of him, his wife and their 3 children, ‘yes to forever’ after getting married in his hometown.

Many clubs have paid tributes to this devastating event for example, the matches that are played tonight and tomorrow for the Women's Euros will hold a silence to remember Jota. Past Liverpool coach, Jürgen Klopp stated on Instagram: ‘Diogo was not only a fantastic player, but also a great friend, a loving and caring husband and father! We will miss you so much!’ expressing how much Jota will be missed

Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this hard time.
