Louise Quinn has announced she will retire at the end of the season.
The defender has accumulated 121 senior caps since making her Irish debut at just 14 when she was called into the under-14 squad. She leaves with 16 goals, 15 being headers and she also played every minute of her country’s 2023 Women’s World Cup campaign.
Her announcement comes following a hip injury which has kept her out of the game since October.
She currently plays under Birmingham City in the Women’s Championship, but has previously had spells as Notts County, Arsenal and Fiorentina. While at Arsenal she won the Women’s Super League and the FA Women’s League Cup.
With Niamh Fahey, Diane Caldwell and Julie-Ann Russell also announcing their retirements, the Irish side will lose 404 caps of experience.
