London City Lionesses have taken the summer transfer window by storm

Published on 9 September 2025 at 11:58

London City Lionesses will play in the WSL for the first time and have been very busy this summer, bringing in 17 new faces to their squad. The Lionesses are the only team – in the history of the league – not to be affiliated with any other club or organisation.

Captain, Kosovare Asllani, says although a midtable finish would be ‘acceptable and maybe realistic’, she would not be happy for the team to be midtable at the end of the season. With the quality and experience they have brought in; we can expect them to be aiming to finish as high as possible.

Shirt numbers are now confirmed, so hurry and order your favourite new signing’s shirt now!

Wassa Sangare (will wear number 26)

Wassa Sangare has joined the squad on a season long loan from OL Lyonnes. The 19-year-old is a product of the OL Lyonnes academy and adds composure and natural ability as a result of her training with Europe’s most successful club.

Sangare was part of France’s 2023 UEFA Women’s U17 Championship winning team, after this she stepped up the U19s. In the U19 squad, Sangare has earned over 25 caps and contributed 4 goals, giving a glimpse into what she is capable of.
