PSG played a hell of a season and entered the finale of the world cup of clubs as the big favorite. However, Chelsea and among them Cole Palmer lifted the trophy in the end. PSG started strong with a huge opportunity for Doué, which landed in no man’s land. On the other end, Cole Palmer struck to put Chelsea ahead with 1-0. Not even Donarumma could prevent it.

Just eight minutes later, Cole Palmer again showed why he was finale worthy scoring the second goal. Within just half an hour, Chelsea was in a comfortable 2-0 lead. João Pedro sealed the deal with the finishing 3-0 in a one-on-one with Donnarruma

Champions League winners Paris Saint Germain, however is a team to never forget. They did fought their way into the sixteen meters of the Blue Side multiple times. Unfortunately, fans and critics quickly realized that this PSG, after a remarkable season wasn’t at their best level with many chances who did not end up on the scoreboard for the Frenchmen.

The finale ended with a bittersweet aftertaste due to an unfortunate incident between João Neves and Curcurella. Neves pulled Curcerella’s hair and had to end the match early with a red card as result. After the final whistle, the adrenaline was still sensible between coach Enrique and João Pedro.

And with that the first ever world cup of clubs comes to an end; with a great football, remarkable moments, Chelsea on top, and now a well-deserved break for many players before they report back to their clubs in a month.
