Fred Vasseur put pen to paper in Maranello today as he extended his time at Ferrari with a multi-year contract. It has not been stated how long this has been decided for, but after rumours of his job being under pressure, it is confirmed that Vasseur will be wearing red next season.
Fred Vasseur started his career with a degree in aeronautical engineering alongside founding the ASM Formula 3 team, later renamed and now known as ART, which still functions as a feeder series in F2 and F3. Vasseur then put in a 6-year stint at Alfa Romeo as the team principal before joining Ferrari in 2023, leading them to 6 victories during his time. Last season, he also fought the McLarens for the championship title, losing out in the final race at Abu Dhabi by only 14 points.
This season has had its ups and downs so far, with no victories, but they are P2 in the constructors’ championship and have had driver Charles Leclerc on the podium, though Hamilton is still searching to take home some silverware in the Ferrari. Both drivers have had complaints this season. Charles has had his differences over certain team strategy decisions regarding when to pit for fresh tyres, and Lewis has struggled with the car and made his worries known over the team radio. Leclerc and Hamilton are P5 and P6, respectively.
Both drivers are signed to work alongside Fred Vasseur next season. With new regulations, engineers are working to build the 2026 car and bring Ferrari to glory with Fred on the pit wall.
